Levels of Service

Services provided by ANL
Our consulting services vary from basic , which can have application to individuals in agricultural environments for example, through to comprehensive - more suited to corporate or community groups which operate on larger scales and where other party interests may need to be considered.

Basic (back to top)

Australian Native Landscapes will source and assess the nature and extent of available inputs such as plant, ability to irrigate, dimensions, roads, drainage, site and infrastructure etc. and will advise the customer of minimum site and plant requirements.

The service will provide for two visits to site by ANL Quality/Systems - Projects representatives.
During the lst visit ANL will

physically confirm process inputs and site layout with a view to optimisation of the composting process for the site
develop a batching formulation based on customer available inputs and determine the type of compost structure which best suits the customer's requirements
include a presentation on composting which will reference the customers own particular site and situation, - through the availability of inputs such as plant for example and the necessity to monitor and understand the nature and necessity of temperature and moisture requirements for successful composting together with the height of compost mass, physical management scheduling, the aerobic composting process etc.
supervise the commencement of windrow construction activities
observe and monitor progress of windrow construction and advise on irrigation schedules and wastewater recycling
supply to the client a basic flow chart of the composting process indicating scheduling of events

A 2nd visit will take place at the conclusion of the composting process and will involve

an on site assessment of the organic degradation process and of product.
sampling for in house testing to certain basic requirements of AS 4454
- pH, EC, P(sol), NH4(sol), wettability, moisture.

ANL will conclude with a written assessment of the clients operations and quality of product based on this 2nd visit and will make suggestion or alteration to operation schedules in consequence and as it considers appropriate.

Intermediate (back to top)

The service will provide for three visits to site by ANL Quality/Systems - Projects representative.
During the lst visit ANL will

physically confirm process inputs and site layout with the view to optimising the composting process to the site
develop a batching formulation based on customer inputs and determine type of windrow construct which best suits the customer's requirements
include a slide presentation on composting which will reference the customers own particular site and situation, - through the availability of inputs such as plant for example and the necessity to monitor and understand the nature and necessity of temperature and moisture requirements for successful composting together with the height of compost mass, physical management scheduling, the aerobic composting process etc.
supervise the commencement of construction activities
observe and monitor progress of windrow construction and advise on irrigation schedules and wastewater recycling.
supply to the client a basic flow chart of the composting process indicating scheduling of events

A 2nd visit will take place at the conclusion of stage one of the composting process. Subjective assessment will be made of the aerobic nature of the process and of suitability of the irrigation regime.
Process or batching amendments may be made based on observations made during this visit.
The client will receive a summary of observations.

A 3rd visit- will take place at the conclusion of the composting process and will involve

an on site assessment of degradation and of product.
sampling for testing to parameter requirements of AS 4454 and submission to certifying laboratory for same.

ANL will provide to the client a simple summary report of the production process inclusive of observations. It will interpret test results and adjust or amend process management as a consequence as required

ANL will further provide a tailored Operations Manual suited to the customer's requirements

Comprehensive (back to top)

The comprehensive service offered by ANL incorporates all of the elements of it Basic and Intermediate consulting services. Additionally it incorporates elements which allow the customer to move on to certification and marketing of product under Australian Standards certification with ease.
The service consists of

three visits by Senior ANL Quality/Systems - Projects Management staff that set up and initially supervise a composting facility including client/site-management induction into the production and quality management process.
sampling, appraisal and the preparation of interim reports covering manufacture and product quality.
the supply of a client specific Production-Procedures Manual and Quality Plan Summary which will comply to the specification requirements of AS 4454Composts Soil Conditioners and Mulches.

Option available to the Comprehensive service:
ANL will act as technical liaison on behalf of the client in aspects relating to certification to the AS 4454 - Composts, soil conditioners and mulches.
Similarly, ANL will act as technical liaison with NASAA in relation to product manufacture and certification to "Organics"- as allowable input to sustainable farming systems.
