TIMBER CONSTRUCTION

Treated Pine Timber

This timber undergoes a chemical treatment with Copper Chrome Arsenate to protect the wood.

When using treated pine in landscape construction it is important that a number of simple safety factors are considered.

  • Do not use treated timber in applications or situations where it is in direct contact with drinking water or food.
  • It is preferable to saw the timber outdoors, and always use a dust mask so that you avoid inhaling the sawdust. This is applicable to any timber cutting, whether treated or untreated.
  • As with most construction work wear goggles for eye protection.
  • Do not burn treated timber , as the gases may be harmful to your health.
  • Treated timber should not be used in applications such as counter tops.
